 The trek is sometimes hard. The itinerary can be changed due to high water levels in the river between Seo Mi Ty and Ta Trung Ho. There will be no toilet facilities in the National Park area. Toilet tents will be provided.

DAY BY DAY

On this trip you have an opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful parts of Sapa area, which is under the protection of Hoang Lien National Park. The night you spend at a campsite near a river will be memorable moments. You will also be able to meet several different minorities, which cannot be found in other areas of Sapa, such as Tay and Xa Pho. Even though they live close to one another, the Tay is one of the most advanced minority while the Xa Pho still maintains the tradition of nomadism.

DAY 1 - Sapa – Y Linh Ho - Seo Mi Ty

You will have a transfer along Muong Hoa valley for about 15 minutes before taking a descent by a dirt trail to Y Linh Ho village which is inhabited by Black H’mong minority. You are now surrounded by the magnificent scenery of rice terraces, high mountains, streams, and wide valleys dotted by local ethnic minority villages. After crossing a suspension bridge, your trek will be uphill on a small trail amongst the rice terraces. At any time you can take short breaks for viewing the terraced valley below. You will enjoy your lunch on the top of a hill or in a local house, depending on the weather. The trek will be softer in the afternoon. But the scenery becomes even more beautiful. You pass by Seo Mi Ty village of Black H’mong minority before you arrive at a campsite near a river outside the village. While the porters help to put up tents and prepare dinner, you can take a walk to stretch your legs.

DAY 2 - Seo Mi Ty – Den Thang - Ta Trung Ho

The second day trek takes you through beautiful rice paddies and over old suspension bridges. You will trek on a small village path by the side of the rainforest before arriving at Den Thang village of Black H’mong by noon. Here you stop for lunch either nearby a river or in a local school depending on the weather. After lunch, the trek will become tough on a tiny footpath going up and down, which requires a lot of concentration. You will reach Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao minority where you spend the night in a local house. Both the valley and the village have only received foreign visitors recently. The night will be even more interesting in the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao

DAY 3 - Ta Trung Ho - Nam Toong – Thanh Phu

You are now at the fringe of the rainforest by the Hoang Lien Son mountain range which is located by the highest peak in Indochina - Fansipan Mount with the height of 3143 meters above sea level. You will start the trek today by ascending to Nam Toong village of the Red Dao minority. Here your lunch will be prepared in a local school. After lunchtime, you descend to the valley which is located in the My Son village of Xa Pho minority, one of the smallest ethnic groups in Northern Vietnam. From there you take a short walk to Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you spend the night in the traditional house of the Tay. You can take a walk to explore local daily life while your Vietnamese-dish dinner is being prepared.

DAY 4 - Thanh Phu – Nam Sai - Nam Cang - Nam Nhiu - Sin Chai

Today’s trek will be mostly on the dirt road but give you more opportunities to visit more minorities’ villages. You will visit the Tay in Nam Sai and the Red Dao in Nam Cang and Nam Nhiu. You will also have time to photograph the beautiful rice paddy terraces, streams, waterfalls and the surrounding mountains. You will stay tonight in a local house at Sin Chai village, where you will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.

DAY 5 - Sin Chai – Nam Cum –Thanh Phu – Ban Ho – Sapa

Leaving the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao, you will commence the trek by following an uphill trail to Nam Cum village. On the way, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of endless mountains and rice terraces. Nam Cum is a small village inhabited by Red Dao. If it is a class day, you will visit the village’s school to say hello to the children there. You will then descend to Thanh Phu where your lunch will be served in a local house. In the afternoon, you will continue the descent to Thanh Phu Bridge, from there you follow a small trail along the river to Ban Ho village inhabited by Tay ethnic minority. Ban Ho is the area’s largest village stretching along both banks of Muong Bo River, surrounded by rice terraces and well-organized vegetable gardens. Your vehicle will then meet you at the village and transfer you back to Sapa.
