Cat Tien, is a small Red River Delta village nestled in a horse shoe shaped bend of the Bac Hung Hai river. This small village has a much more poetic look and feel than other villages in the area.
Standing beside the river in Cat Tien, you can observe local villagers crossing the river in small boats. Behind you is a majestic view of the mountains. In the village itself are many French era houses as well as a beautiful Buddhist pagoda and lovely village temples.
Between 1945 and the early 1980’s Cat Tien and other neighboring villages were a revolutionary base as well as a huge rice basin. The region’s fertile soil fed millions of people, providing essential agricultural support to the war efforts.
Being centrally positioned between Hanoi, Halong Bay, and Cat Ba Island, Cat Tien is an ideal place to stop off, relax, and conveniently enjoy the easygoing pace of a countryside village.
Depending on your departure point; (Hanoi one hour, Halong Bay 30 minutes, Cat Ba Island ferry 20 minutes); The tour will begin at Giang Khau village beside the romantic Bac Hung Hai river.
